Spinal Cord Compression

Uncontrolled Pain Crisis
Pain rated ≥ 8/10 that is not responding to current regimen — needs urgent palliative or oncology assessment for medication adjustment.

Severe Dehydration / Inability to Eat or Drink
Persistent vomiting, diarrhea, or mouth sores preventing adequate intake during chemo — may require IV fluids and hospitalization.

Interpreter Note
End-of-life conversations carry deep emotional and cultural weight. Interpret every word accurately, including "terminal" or "hospice." Do not replace or soften the provider's words. After the session, it is appropriate to acknowledge difficulty to your supervisor if needed.
